We have been friends since the age of five
Played our games of hide-and-seek
Our parents had trouble separating us
Sometimes both of us they tried to trick
In second grade you got in a fight
When someone punched you in the mouth
I was there by your side as a source of comfort
Around me you never had a doubt
In sixth grade you had to move away
Through letters and phone calls we kept in touch
I remember the smile that fell upon my face
When I heard you say "I miss you very much"
Three years later you moved back in town
Excitement flooded through me accompanied with joy
I saw you enter my ninth grade class
You smiled at me with pearly white teeth,
you are no longer a little boy
I listened to your problems, you listened to mine
With a grin upon your face, you were always seen
I was told you went down to the city
For important business you had to do
Months have passed and you are still unheard from
Nobody has seen you from the day you left

Your body was found in a junkyard nearby
It appeared that your death was due to foul play
You left me all of a sudden without a kiss goodbye
All of our dreams have now been sabotaged
As a result of your dealing with drugs
No longer will I be able to express the love I felt for you
Nor feel your soft kisses and comforting hugs
